Download the ShadeInterview desktop app for your platform. On macOS: open the .dmg file, drag the app to your Applications folder. On Windows: run the .exe installer and follow the prompts.

Step 2

Sign In & Start Interview

Sign in with your account. In the sidebar, select Interview and click "Start Interview" to open the task window.

Pro Tips

Adjust window opacity

Press Cmd+O in the task window to open the opacity panel, then drag the slider or use Alt+Up/Down arrows to fine-tune transparency. Lower opacity lets you see through the window to your interview screen underneath.

Keep the window invisible

The task window is designed to be hidden from screen-sharing software. Position it off the shared screen area or use the built-in visibility toggle.

Use the Debug mode

If you have existing code with errors, paste it in the user input box and click Debug. The AI will identify and fix the issues.

Add context with voice

If your interview platform supports audio input, speak your thoughts — the transcript is captured alongside screenshots for richer context.

Session stays active

Your session stays active as long as you interact with the app. After 20 minutes of inactivity the session pauses automatically and resumes on your next action.
